Burlington, VT -- (July 15, 2011) The Winners of the 32nd Annual Telly Awards have been announced. With nearly 11,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, this year’s Telly Awards has been one of the most successful and competitive in the long history of the Telly Awards.
Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and web commercials, videos and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.
GRPVT (Green River Pictures, LLC.) of Burlington, VT was awarded 3 Silver Telly Awards and 2 Bronze Telly awards for their work last year. GRPVT worked with the Department of Justice last year to create a 60 second PSA in memory of Will Gates, a UVM student who passed away from a heroin overdose at UVM in 2009. The project has grown into a 22-minute opiate education video and this latest honor of 4 Telly Awards will help continue the education efforts of the US Department of Justice and the Gates family going forward.
There was a photo session and press conference at the federal building on July 15th, 2011. WCAX was there to interview Skip Gates as he continues his efforts to educate the public with his message, "Drugs will Kill...no matter how smart you are." To read the full WCAX story. click here.
All of this work was done in the first year of business. Austin Pritchard and Derek Hallquist founded GRPVT in September of 2009. It is a great honor to receive awards for their first projects. To View GRPVT’s winning videos click here!

A prestigious judging panel of over 500 accomplished industry professionals, each a past Winner of a Silver Telly and a member of The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents. The Silver Council evaluated entries to recognize distinction in creative work – entries do not compete against each other - rather entries are judged against a high standard of merit. Less than 10% of entries are chosen as Winners of a Silver Telly, our highest honor. Other outstanding work is awarded a Bronze Telly.
